Our June meeting included Tom’s presentation on the Mississippi River Notes Part 2.  The July meeting will be held on the 11th since the first Wednesday in July falls on the 4th.  Discussion for the evening included; a Milwaukee Journal article about a liberty head nickel that was flattened on the tracks by the city’s first electric street-car in 1890, and other current events related to coins. Exhibits for the night included; elongated cents from the Brookfield Zoo, a $100 MPC souvenir note that featuring a picture of a Tuskegee airman and signed by Harold H. Brown, who may the last surviving Tuskegee airman, an error note from New Zealand, and an article about practical uses for coins.

Don and  Randy proposed that the club hold an auction at the September 5 meeting. Please send descriptions (six words or less) of items you would like to auction off by August 20. Include a minimum bid for each item if you like. The list of items to be auctioned will be published in the September newsletter. The club will not be charging auction fees so all money made will go to the sellers. Prospective buyers will be required to pay CASH on the day of the auction.

  • Our next regular meeting of the Waukesha Coin Club will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 11th , at the Waukesha Salvation Army meeting room located at 445 Madison Street.  The Salvation Army is located one block west of the corner of Highway 18 and Madison Street. Enter through the back door and take the elevator to the second floor.
  • Guests Welcome: If anyone wants to bring new collectors young or old to the meetings, remember that guests are always welcome!

Pot Coin:   Any silver Roosevelt Dime 1946-1964, VF or better.
